Before I travel to a country I make sure I am well-acquainted with the retail scene there. Travel guides often cover the big malls but what you will find will probably fall into two categories: high fashion and fast fashion. For the discerning shopper looking for something else this will simply not do.

As a fan of small, independent retailers that have a well-curated set of merchandise I have maintained a list of shops that I continuously update. Now I think it is time to share it with everyone so I am pleased to announce a new section that will be a listing of retailers in the Asian region complete with a link to their website, street address and opening hours whenever possible.

The next time you’re flying to any of the destinations come back and check my list of shops. I’m sure you will find something to your liking.
